Chinese Restaurants in Temecula CA
Case in point, restaurant was full but we were seated quickly at the corner booth. Our server acknowledged us filled our drink order and didn't see her again for almost 15 minutes. In comparison the party sitting behind us were seated after us and received their food before we received our appetizer. Time from initial seating to receiving appetizer 35 minutes and never got a drink refill.
It's hard to fault a restaurant for being popular but it was so loud i ended up with a headache by the time my entree arrived and retreated to an outside table. How loud you ask? I turned on my sound meter app and it was pegged a solid 85/86 dB. For comparison from the table outside a blaring fire truck siren on Winchester rated 92 dB and a Harley Fatboy passing by 20 feet away hit 95 dB.
So let's get to a food review. Everyone at the table agreed the Minced Chicken in lettuce was salty but tasty. If you like PF Changs lettuce wraps and order this you will be disappointed. But it could have also been the specific brand of Hoisin sauce. Hoisin is the only condiment to the lettuce wrap unless you count the soy sauce on the table as well. As a nice touch of service the server does individually serve the lettuce wraps table side.
Wifey ordered the grilled shrimp cilantro salad and really liked it. Grandma ordered Chicken Lo Mein and said it was very salty so asked for lemon to offset the saltiness. I thought the Lo Mein was also on the salty side. I ordered the Spicy Garlic Shrimp which was neither spicy nor garlicky but more like a sweet and sour ketchup red sauce with a distinctive metallic taste. I asked our server if this was really the spicy garlic shrimp and she looked at me and looked at my plate and looked at me bewildered. She didn't understand what I was asking and seemed confused. For $7.95 I wasn't going to make a fuss. Besides the cold egg roll, mushy shrimp and 85 dB restaurant din I gave up on Sunday lunch stepped outside while my party finished their lunch.
